Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme

To join the Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 31st Course, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Nationality: Citizen of India or subject of Nepal or a person of Indian origin from certain countries with a certificate of eligibility issued by the Indian government. Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempt from this requirement.
• Age: Between 21 to 27 years as of July 1st, 2023. Date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate will be considered.
• Educational Qualification: A minimum of 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (3 years after graduation or 5 years after 10+2), along with a CLAT PG score. Must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India and from a College/University recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Vacancies: Men – 6, Women – 3.
• Tenure of Engagement: 14 years with an initial period of 10 years extendable by 4 years. May be eligible for Permanent Commission (PC) in the 10th year of their Short Service Commission if suitable.
• Probation: 6 months from the date of commission.
• Training: 49 weeks at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
• Other conditions apply regarding termination of commission, reserve liability, marriage during training, etc.

Indian Army Recruitment Eligibility 2023 & Age Limit

For the Indian Army SSC 61st entry, candidates must have a Bachelor Degree or Engineering Degree with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university in India. The age limit for this entry is between 20 to 27 years.
