Perinatal Care Guidance(PCG)
|
|
A program to improve the health of women and give their babies a healthy start in life. Services include comprehensive prenatal care, health education, nutrition services, and pyschosocial support for up to 60 days after delivery. Information and referrals for child-care and transportation services are also available.

Women, Infants, and Children
|

A federal supplemental nutrition program that helps low to moderate-income pregnant women, new mothers, and children under the age of five to eat
well and stay healthy. Nutrtion information and supplemental food are available if financial eligibility is met.

Child Health and Disability Prevention Program (CHDP)
|
|
Provides complete health assessments (wellness exams) for prevention and the early detection of disease and disabilities in children and youth.
Health assessments are provided at periodic intervals throughout childhood for low to moderate-income children. Immunizations, hearing and
vision tests, and dental referrals are included.

Infant/Child Car Seat Program
|
|
Sierra County offers a low-cost infant/child seat program to serve the residents of the county. All residents who are
financially eligible for this program will receive training in the use of infant/child car seats and are provided with
a car seat at a very low cost. These car seats meet all federal safety standards. Please phone: (530) 993-1110.

California Children's Services (CCS)
|
|
Assists with medical costs for children under the age of 21, who have serious medical or handicapping conditions.
